OK...enough with the dictionary definitions.We dont want to fall asleep here.
Cool to me is definately a relative term.It's more relative then relativity teory itself,whatever that is..lol!
Cool stuffs change with time.Its just zeitgeist(Ger. spirit or mood of a particular period) .
In fact..i remember cool stuffs through out my highschool.
in form 1..(thats grade 6 for you US edu system people)..it was cool to hang a bunch of keys on ur belt and have the
ching ching noise as you walk.
oh! the gooey phlegm like slime was also fashionable then..along with Digimon. Well out of those stuffs...i only bought the phlegm...er...i mean the slime...it only lasted 1hour in my hands though.i hid it during school hours..then when i went to the secret place i had it..sumone has stole it..:mad:
in form 2..speaking as though u're a King..and giving out execution orders was a trend.I take pride in saying i started it off...lol!
in form 3..erm..japanese culture.There was a student exchange program..to japan.it costed RM3000(£500)..but I cant go..its only for Locals.
form4...soccer ...world cup fever...;)...i went to the soccer field for the first time to play soccer(that year)...well..thats the first and last.LOL...i suck bigtime!
form 5... handphones and games.
well..except for the Japanese culture...the rest of the "cool stuffs' died out eventually. See..its zeitgeist.
Well..even at times..coolness depends on ourselves really. Sometimes we just can't understand why we treat different people differently.Some times..there's no trend at all.we can find both the devil and an angel cool at the same time.
But we can always see some general trends in what a culture find cool. But its not compulsary that we follow them...at least not for rebels like myself...go against the stream:P...the society make crazy trends at time ...some are beyond the haraam line..i.e. as haraam as haraam can get.
So here's a few points of whats cool and whats not in my opinion...
- wearing clothing with insufficient material (showing off ur body)...NOT COOL
- dying your hair, especially with absurd colours like green...NOT COOL
- keeping girl/boy friends... NOT COOL
- skipping prayers...NOT COOL
- spending your life's saving to buy the latest model from
...NOT COOL (erm..but i wont mind someone getting me a new mobile for my b-day..coming soon;)) - changing your hairstyle everyday...NOT COOL
- using a fake accent...NOT COOL (especially if u're a desi trying to sound English...dont look at me)
- ending every sentence that utter your mouth with a curse/swear...NOT COOL
OK...time for some cool stuffs...
- wearing HIJAAB...
- if people give u a cold shoulder coz u wear hijaab..yet u still wear it...
- keeping beard...
- crying everytime you remember God...
- loving your friends more then your life...
- praying for the Muslims worldwide...
- smiling everytime, even when you're troubled...
- starting everything with BISMILLAH...
- if you forgive me for forgetting what else i planned to write...
